The long journey to Alexander Megos’ illustrious career began in 2006 when he began active participation in climbing competitions.

However, until 2009, he opened his medal account by winning the European Youth Championships and every event in the European Youth Championship series.

The following year, he retained the European Youth Championship title before winning the Vice World Youth Champion title in 2011.

In 2007, Megos climbed his first 8a route and followed up with an 8c two years later. In 2011, he climbed his first 9a route.
