DiGiulian’s competitive career began at age seven, climbing her first 5.13b (8a) route when she was eleven. She began competing in the Junior Female Open Pan-American Championships in 2004 and kept an undefeated profile till her graduation to the senior stage in 2010.

In 2011, eighteen-year-old DiGiulian redpointed two 5.14c routes (Washington, D.C and Red River Gorge, Kentucky) within a month. She graduated from high school that year and contested in some outdoor climbing escapades and international competitions.

At the 2011 Female Bouldering World Championships in Arco, Italy, DiGiulian claimed the silver medal before returning to Red River Gorge to onsight the 8b+ Omaha Beach and redpoint Pure Imagination was a controversial 5.14d route.

Sasha DiGiulian Personal Life

Sasha DiGiulian was born in Alexandria, Virginia, to Andrea and John DiGiulian, and started climbing since she clocked six. She was interested in the sport after her brother’s birthday party at a local climbing gym in 1998.
